Community Unified Today,
Inc. (CUT) sees daycare as the opportunity to positively impact
the lives of young children and to supplement the care and nurturing
children receive at home. We strive to provide an educationally
progressive and developmentally appropriate program to children
in a safe environment.
CUT believes that children
deserve more than custodial care. Therefore, in addition to USDA
approved meals and snacks, both centers utilize curriculums aimed
at promoting the physical, intellectual, and emotional growth of
the children.
Both centers are committed
to providing a multicultural environment which promotes tolerance
and cultural understanding through projects and sharing. Community
Unified Today serves children without regard to race, religion,
sex, or national origin.

Family
Services
CUTs Family Reimbursement
Program provides support to individuals and families caring for
a developmentally disabled family member. This support is provided
primarily for the benefit of the individual with developmental disabilities
in order to achieve the goals of maintaining family unity, preventing
premature or inappropriate out-of-home placement, reuniting families,
enhancing parenting skills, maximizing the potential of the individual
or family members with a developmental disability, and assisting
individuals and families to be fully integrated and included within
their communities.
Goods and services are
eligible for reimbursement under this program if they are reasonably
related to assisting the family in caring for their developmentally
disabled family member. Those goods and services covered by private
insurance, Medicaid, or any other source are not eligible for reimbursement
under this program.
Some examples of allowable
expenses include (but are not limited to):
- In-Home respite
- Out-of-Home respite
- Medical
- Dental
- Therapy
- Adaptive equipment
- Guardianship costs
- Telephone costs
- Special foods or supplements
- Specialized clothing
- Summer camps
- Transportation
- Recreation
- Diapers/Attends
- Adaptive toys
Any family (biological
or adoptive) who provides primary care to a member who has a developmental
disability can apply for the reimbursement program. A copy of supporting
documentation is required. Application forms can be picked up at
the CUT office between the hours of 8:30am and 5pm.
Housing
Homeownership
Assistance
The CUT Homeownership
Assistance Program provides financial assistance to eligible applicants
purchasing single family homes within the City of Geneva. Assistance
is in the form of a grant to the home purchaser to assist with the
down payment and the cover the closing costs. CUT assistance may
also be coupled with homeownership incentives offered by the City
of Geneva.
Income guidelines for
the program are as follows:

Housing
Counseling
Community Unified Today
periodically sponsors housing conferences to link prospective homebuyers
with local lenders and realtors and to provide information about
first-time and low-income homebuyer incentive programs. CUT provides
both pre-purchase and post-purchase counseling to ease the transition
to homeownership and to ensure success in the endeavor.
Rental
Management and Assistance
This program provides
a decent, safe and affordable alternative for larger families and
special needs populations. CUT has developed sixteen units of housing
consisting of three and four bedroom, single family and duplex units
with HOME grants totaling nearly $1 million dollars. Rent levels
are set by the federal government and are generally consistent with
local HUD Section 8 limits. Eligible applicants must meet specific
income guidelines.
CUT's Scattered Sites
Rental program also includes three, four and five bedroom units
available at below market rates for families with incomes at or
below $42,320*
Housing
for the Homeless
The Clark Park Townhouses
built and operated by CUT have multiple 2 and 3 bedroom units available
for families facing eviction, living on the streets, living in a
hotel/motel, sharing housing, or meeting any of the criteria for
homelessness. Household income is not a consideration in determining
eligibility for homeless housing.
Rents are based on the
shelter allowance if the applicant is receiving public assistance;
for all others rents are based on 30 percent of total household
income and/or the local HUD Section 8 limits.
Clark Park is intended
to provide stable housing for the homeless, but residents must strive
to attain educational and employment goals as set through individual
case management. Families working towards self-sufficiency will
not be displaced.
